S. RYAN SCHMIDT is a New York based lighting designer. She has been working professionally in and around the city since 1997. Her NYC credits include The Mystery Plays (Second Stage, Mcginn/Cazale), Port Authority Throwdown, (The Working Theater) Critical Darling (The New Group), The Job (WPA), The Abduction Project (HERE), Suzuki (German Theatre Abroad) and Richard III (The Pearl Theater Co), and Chamber Dance Company.
Regional Credits include Iron Kisses (The Geva Theater), Love For Three Oranges (The Playground Theater) King Lear (Yale Reperatory Theater) A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Rivals (Hudson Valley Shakespeare).
In 2004 she was awarded the Connecticut Critics Circle Award for her work on The Mystery Plays at the Yale Reperatory Theater. She has a M.F.A in lighting design from Yale School of Drama, and a B.F.A in theater from New York University.
